On Saturday afternoon, Bayern Munich host Mainz at the Allianz Arena, as the reigning champions look to maintain or even stretch their lead at the top of the Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich recorded a 3-0 midweek win over Barcelona in the Champions League to extend their winning run to four matches in all competitions. The win over the Catalan giants also saw the Bavarians score at least two goals for the third time in four outings in all competitions.

Mainz are enjoying a promising campaign under talented head coach Bo Svensson. The 05ers are currently seventh place in the German top-flight table, just two points adrift of the European spots.
Despite their lofty position in the table, a 3-0 win over Wolfsburg last time out ended a three-game winless run in the top-flight for the visitors.
Mainz’s recent away record is a poor one, as Svensson’s team has suffered three defeats in their last four Bundesliga matches on their travels. However, they faced both Bayer Leverkusen and Dortmund in that run of games, so maybe those losses are understandable.
