Fiorentina will return to the more familiar surroundings of their Stadio Artemio Franchi for this upcoming Serie A clash against Sampdoria on Tuesday night, no doubt looking to make the most of home advantage.
Results away from home have been a major concern for Fiorentina as they’ve lost their last four away games on the trot but it’s Fiorentina’s form at home that becomes more important for this encounter, and the hosts have produced some impressive results on home soil.
Fiorentina have won their last three home matches on the trot with victories gained over Cagliari 3-0, Spezia 3-0 and a 4-3 win against AC Milan respectively, which has seen the hosts score a total of 10 goals in the process and concede just 3 in reply.
The hosts also possess dangerous striker, Vlahovic (11 goals) up front and he’s been in deadly form again in this season’s Serie A campaign following last season’s 21-goal haul for Fiorentina.
Sampdoria will be seeking a third consecutive win in the Italian top flight on Tuesday night when they make their way to the Stadio Artemio Franchi after picking up wins against Salernitana and Verona in 2-0 and 3-1 wins respectively.
These recent wins will have certainly been a welcome boost for Sampdoria as the visitors had previously suffered three losses on the trot in the Italian top flight having been handed defeats by Atalanta, Torino and Bologna respectively.
Despite these recent wins, Sampdoria still remain in the bottom half of Serie A and sit in 15th place on the domestic top flight ladder as the bigger picture have seen Fiorentina pick up just three wins from their last 10 matches overall.
An earlier 2-1 win over Spezia was achieved on home turf at their Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris but six defeats within this 10-match sequence suggest this upcoming clash away at Fiorentina could prove to be a tough outing for the visitors.
In addition, Sampdoria have tended to struggle on the road in Serie A for some time as the visitors have claimed just four wins from their last 15 matches on their travels while also losing seven of these matches and keeping just five clean sheets in the process.
Fiorentina’s momentum at home could see the hosts claim another three points here.
