Napoli will be looking to keep hold of top spot in the Serie A table when they welcome Lazio to Stadio San Paolo on Sunday night.

Having lost just one of their 13 league matches this season, first-place Napoli sit level with second-place AC Milan on 32 points.

Meanwhile, Lazio find themselves sixth – 12 points behind Napoli and level with both seventh-place Fiorentina and eighth-place Juventus on 21 points.

Napoli suffered their first domestic defeat of the season last weekend, suffering a 3-2 loss to Inter Milan.

They also lost in the UEFA Europa League in midweek, going down 2-0 to Spartak Moscow. As a result, their group is wide open with only one game left to play.

When you look at the bigger picture, Napoli have only lost one of their previous 20 encounters in Serie A.

It is also worth pointing out that Napoli are currently enjoying a 17-match unbeaten streak on home soil in Italy’s top tier.

Having conceded a measly seven goals in 12 games, Luciano Spalletti’s men boast the best defensive record in Serie A.

On the flip side, Lazio head into Sunday’s clash on the back of a commanding 3-0 victory over Lokomotiv Moscow in the Europa League.

Ciro Immobile bagged a brace before Pedro completing the scoring, meaning the Eagles are unbeaten in their last four European outings.

In Serie A, however, Lazio have struggled for consistency this season – registering six wins, three draws, and four defeats.

Despite enjoying the lion’s share of possession, Maurizio Sarri’s side suffered a 2-0 loss to Juventus last weekend.

It is also worth pointing out that Lazio have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their previous ten away games in Serie A.

Head-to-head: There have been no draws in any of the last six meetings between these two sides. In that time, Napoli have claimed four wins, while Lazio have won twice.

Considering the previous three encounters have dished up a combined total of 13 goals, Sunday’s clash is destined to be a high-scoring affair.

Team news: Napoli have four players sidelined through injury at the moment – Victor Osimhen, Adam Ounas, Lorenzo Insigne and Andre Zambo Anguissa.

As for Lazio, they are currently injury free. However, they could be without Adam Marusic on Sunday due to COVID-19 protocols.

Napoli have been immense so far this season, losing just once in Serie A. For that reason, they shouldn’t struggle to see off an inconsistent Lazio outfit.

Forbet predicts that Napoli will net over 2.5 goals on their way to dispatching Lazio. Judging by recent encounters between these two sides, both teams are likely to score.
