Two teams slumped into the bottom half of the table and just above the relegation zone will meet this weekend in what is a must-not-lose clash between Torino and Udinese, as any more points dropped for either side could spell serious worries for each after only 12 games played.
Torino are currently sat in 12th following winning only four of their 12 games thus far, drawing two, and losing the other six.
It now puts them only five points above the drop zone and given how games are coming thick and fast over this winter period in Italy, the club could see themselves in the drop zone in next to no time unless their form rapidly changes hands.
What just about sums up Torino’s form thus far is their past three games. They did narrowly lose to AC Milan three weeks ago, which although not positive, considering their title quest, it isn’t exactly damning either.
At the same time, they would return to winning ways with a victory over Sampdoria as they netted three and kept a clean sheet against them, showing they can beat clubs also fighting down at the bottom.
However, they also proved they can lose to these teams as well as just a week later, the Turin outfit managed to lose to Spezia 1-0, which subsequently pulled them out of the drop zone and threw Torino closer to it.
Now, they’ve managed to score 15 goals and concede 12 times in 12 Serie A games, which is a similar goals difference record to that of seventh-placed Fiorentina, and not too far behind the Rome clubs, Lazio and Roma. It does prove that they can survive this poor spell of form.
As for Udinese, they sit on the same points, a similar goals difference record and all in all, not much is separating them from Torino at all besides conceding a few extra goals and a tougher fixture list before now.
The club have also managed to win, lose and draw their last three games respectively, which all but sums up their topsy-turvy form so far and why they are so close to the relegation zone.
The game will be a very close one given that all but nothing on both the form and statistical front separates both Udinese and the Turin side. Forebet are now predicting a game that will see over 2.5 goals and see the two clubs share the points in this must-win bout.
