Conte’s Tottenham tipped to topple languishing Leeds

There are only two games taking place in the Premier League on Sunday. Following Everton’s trip to the Etihad Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur welcome Leeds United to North London.

Leeds are languishing down in fifteenth place after winning just two of their 11 Premier League games this season.

As a result, Marcelo Bielsa’s side find themselves five points behind ninth-place Tottenham, who sit six points outside the top four.

Spurs have failed to win any of their previous three league games, registering one draw and two losses along the way.

Not only are Tottenham enduring a three-game winless run in the Premier League, but they have also failed to score a single goal in that time.

Antonio Conte has overseen two games since replacing Nuno Espirito Santo as Tottenham manager before the international break.

Following a thrilling 3-2 victory over Vitesse in the Europa Conference League, Spurs were held to a goalless draw by Everton at Goodison Park.

Interestingly, trends show that each of Tottenham’s last five home games across all competitions have produced over 2.5 goals.

As we know, Leeds have only managed to win two of their 11 league outings this term – recording five draws and four losses in the process.

They have also conceded 18 goals during that period, meaning only four teams have a poorer defensive record in England’s top tier.

On a brighter note, Bielsa’s boys head into Sunday’s clash on a three-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League.

After drawing with Wolves, Leeds beat Norwich City 2-1 at Carrow Road before securing a 1-1 draw with Leicester on home soil.

Head-to-head: Last season, Tottenham and Leeds met for the first time since 2013. Spurs claimed a 3-0 victory at home before Leeds won 3-1 at Elland Road.

Judging by last season’s results, we should get a high-scoring game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Team news: Tottenham will be without injured duo Ryan Sessegnon and Bryan Gil this weekend. Oliver Skipp will also miss the visit of Leeds due to suspension.

As for Bielsa’s side, they are currently without three key players through injury – Robin Koch, Luke Ayling and Patrick Bamford.

With Conte at the wheel, Tottenham are expected to up their game and climb the Premier League table in the coming weeks.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Spurs will claim all three points on Sunday – although both teams are likely to score.
