Hoffenheim face a tough return to action in the German top flight this Saturday afternoon despite holding home advantage at their PreZero Arena when they play host to high-flying RB Leipzig on the weekend.
Hoffenheim dropped down to a mid-table position of 10th place just before the international break when they were handed a 2-0 defeat away from home at Bochum which became Hoffenheim’s third away defeat on the trot following earlier losses at Stuttgart and Bayern Munich.
However, Hoffenheim have impressed of late on their home soil as the hosts have won their last three home games on the trot with victories registered against Wolfsburg, FC Cologne and Hertha Berlin which has seen Hoffenheim bounce back from a shaky start at their PreZero Arena.
Hoffenheim had earlier drawn 2-2 with Union Berlin before slipping to a 2-0 defeat to Mainz but they’ve since bounced back in strong fashion and may well fancy their chances of catching RB Leipzig cold this Saturday.
RB Leipzig climbed up into 5th place after recording an impressive 2-1 home win over Borussia Dortmund just before the international break which not only lifted the visitors up into one of the European spots but also extended RB Leipzig’s unbeaten run in the Bundesliga to seven matches overall.
Within this period, RB Leipzig have picked up four wins in the shape of victories against Hertha Berlin, Bochum, Greuther Furth and the aforementioned win over Borussia Dortmund while also picking up points in draws with FC Cologne, Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.
So they’ll be in confident mood in getting a result at Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon.
The visitors have found results difficult to come by on their travels though for some time in the Bundesliga as RB Leipzig have failed to win any of their last eight matches on the road, whilst also losing five of these eight games as well so they’ll no doubt be keen to set the record straight at the PreZero Arena.
However, despite their barren spell on the road in the German top flight RB Leipzig stand a decent chance of returning to winning ways this weekend.
RB Leipzig are unbeaten in each of their last seven meetings against Hoffenheim and the visitors look well placed to extend this record on Saturday afternoon.
