The top two in World Cup qualifying Group E go head-to-head in Cardiff on Tuesday as Wales host Belgium.
Belgium have already booked their spot in next year’s World Cup. With one game left to play, Roberto Martinez’s side sit five points clear at the top of Group E.
Meanwhile, second-place Wales are three points ahead of third-place Czech Republic and are in pole position to clinch a playoff berth.
Wales sealed an impressive 5-1 victory over Belarus last time out, with Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey bagging a brace.
The Dragons enjoyed 67% possession and chalked up 18 shots on Saturday, limiting Belarus to just two attempts on target.
Wales have strung together a six-game unbeaten streak since Euro 2020, picking up three wins and three draws along the way.
In their past six matches, they have netted a combined total of 11 goals while keeping three clean sheets in the process.
Wales have only lost one of their seven qualifiers so far. Unfortunately, that defeat came at the hands of Belgium.
On the flip side, the Red Devils are unbeaten in Group E, having recorded six wins and a draw from their seven qualifiers.
Martinez’s men have scored 24 goals throughout the campaign, averaging 3.4 goals per game. They have also conceded just five goals.
Across all competitions, Belgium have won nine of their previous 12 games – including five straight WCQ victories.
Although Belgium have already booked their place at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, they will no doubt be eager to finish the campaign on a high.
Head-to-head: Belgium beat Wales 3-1 in the reverse fixture back in March, thanks to goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Thorgan Hazard and Romelu Lukaku.
It is worth noting, however, that Wales have only lost one of their past five meetings with Wales – securing two wins and two draws in that time.
Team news: There are question marks over the fitness of Gareth Bale after the Real Madrid forward was substituted at half-time against Belarus on Saturday.
With both Romelu Lukaku and Michy Batshuayi out injured, Christian Benteke could lead the line for Belgium again on Tuesday.
Although Wales produced an impressive display to see off Belarus at the weekend, they will almost certainly struggle to deal with Belgium’s firepower.
For that season, Forbet predicts that Belgium will score over 3.5 goals on their way to dispatching Wales.
