Las Palmas to Play Out a Goalfest Draw With Real Zaragoza
UD Las Palmas vs Real Zaragoza - 13/11/2021
3514
UD Las Palmas will play hosts to Real Zaragoza to the Estadio Gran Canaria this weekend as the home side look to edge away at Almeria in first and leapfrog both Tenerife and Eibar with a win.
Las Palmas are expected to fight for the title, and in reality, they are not doing that bad of a job in doing so and at the end of it all, the only reason they are not closer to first is simply because Almeria are just too good right now and sitting top of the table.
Currently, seven points are separating the two clubs and if Las Palmas do fail to win here, it might be their title race chucked into the deep end during these early stages in Spain’s second tier.
Nevertheless, they are still right in there in terms of promotion back into La Liga, as long as they keep picking up points here and there.
Moreover, Pepe Mel’s side have been one of the highest scorers in the Segunda Division this term as well as he has seen his side rocket home 22 goals in 15 games, which has helped them to seven victories.
Although this isn’t a great deal of goals scored, given how Almeria have netted 29, it does make Las Palmas the second highest scorers in the division and a force to be reckoned with for anybody stepping into their path in pursuit of promotion.
On the other hand, the club have also let in an alarming 15 goals so far this season and it’s tough to see how they manage to get away with a clean sheet in most games these days as 15 goals conceded in 15 games begs the question as to how good their title charge really is.
As for Real Zaragoza, their hopes of achieving a spot in the promotion ranks and earning a chance a life back in La Liga has taken an almighty hit in the early stages as they sit in a worrying 12th position, eight points off their weekend opponents, Las Palmas.
At the same time, Zaragoza have drawn an almighty 10 games from 15 fixtures so far this campaign, winning three of the other and drawing two more. All of this points to a team struggling to battle inside the top half more than anything else.
Nevertheless, we’re still not at the halfway points and there is still a chance they can move up the league quite fast given how not much is separating clubs inside the top half.
Forebet predicts that this game will see over 2.5 goals and a draw with both clubs witnessing an array of goals.
