On Wednesday night, RB Leipzig host PSG at the Red Bull Arena in Group A of the Champions League, as the visitors look to strengthen their chances of topping the standings.

Somewhat surprisingly RB Leipzig have been the whipping boys of Group A, as the German outfit has lost all three of their matches in Europe’s elite competition this season. Jesse Marsch’s team look unlikely to make the last-16 and are even four points behind third-place Club Brugge.

The disappointing European campaign has just been part of an underwhelming first campaign in Leipzig for former Red Bull Salzburg head coach Marsch.

However, a surprise win in this fixture could revive their flagging hopes in the competition.

Results and performances have improved slightly of late for Die Roten Bullen too, as they are unbeaten in three matches in all competitions.

However, their recent record in the Champions League is a poor one, as the German outfit have now suffered five straight defeats in the competition.

PSG are currently top of the standings in Group A. The Parisians have accrued seven points and lead English champions Manchester City by just a point. The pair are likely to fight it out for supremacy for the rest of the group campaign.

The visitors head into this game on the back of a four-game unbeaten run that includes a 3-2 win in the reverse fixture in Paris. The victory means that Mauricio Pochettino’s team have won back-to-back matches in the competition.

Before the consecutive wins, the team from the French capital had failed to win in four matches in the Champions League.

PSG have been slightly inconsistent of late on their travels in this competition, as they have won just three of their previous six away games. That run includes a 2-1 defeat in Leipzig bin last season’s competition.
