Borussia M'gladbach to Coast to Victory Over the Struggling VfL Bochum

Borussia Mönchengladbach will welcome Vfl Bochum to BORUSSIA-PARK this weekend in what is an absolutely crucial battle down at the bottom end of the table as the away side look to distance themselves from the drop with Gladbach aiming for the top half.

It has been an absolutely torrid campaign so far for Adi Hutter’s men who are currently in a rut in the post-Marco Rose era.

Rose, now flying high with Borussia Dortmund who are just a point off the top, left Gladbach before the start of the season and his brilliance is clear to see even more now with his ex-club struggling so much.

As of now, Hutter and co. are sat in 12th after only winning three of their nine games so far, losing four and drawing the other two. At the same time, they have scored an alarming 10 goals in nine games and let in 12, which during the early stages of 2021/22 is incredibly worrying for them.

In reality, despite a new manager, Gladbach haven’t been able to progress on from their woes of last season, where they managed to finish in 8th after struggling throughout much of the campaign. Now, however, they can’t afford anymore dropped points especially against the likes of Bochum below them.

In fact, a defeat here or even a draw and Gladbach may officially be sucked into a relegation battle with only five points keeping the drop zone at bay right now, while they are also a mere point ahead of Bochum in itself.

However, regardless of overall form in the Bundesliga, over in the DFB-Pokal, Gladbach racked up one of their most famous results in recent times and perhaps the victory of the season so far across all of Europe as they thrashed champions Bayern Munich 5-0.

The home side got off to a flyer with Kouadio Kane netting inside two minutes, and with Ramy Bensebaini bagging a brace not long after, the club were leading the Bundesliga's serial winners 3-0 before half time.

Bayern were expected to come out flying, but within just 12 minutes of the second half, Breel Embolo scored twice and Gladbach would finish the game with a thumping 5-0 win over the league champions.

With this in mind, as well as Bochum’s 16 goals conceded and seven scored inside the Bundesliga, it should be an easy win for Hutter’s men. Here, Forebet predicts a game of under 2.5 goals but one in which Gladbach should win.
