AC Milan will aim to extend their unbeaten start to the 2021/22 Serie A season when they face Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday night.

The Rossoneri have taken 28 points from a possible 30 this term and second in the table – level with first-place Napoli.

On the flip side, Roma find themselves fourth – nine points behind Milan and one point clear of fifth-place Atalanta.

Roma head into Sunday’s showdown on the back of a 2-1 victory over Cagliari in midweek, despite going behind early in the second half.

Late goals from Ibanez and Lorenzo Pellegrini saw Jose Mourinho's men complete an impressive turnaround on Wednesday, finishing the game with 22 attempts to their name.

Roma have now won six of their opening ten Serie A games this season, registering one draw and three losses along the way.

Having scored 18 goals and conceded ten so far this term, Mourinho’s side boast one of the best goal differences in Italy’s top tier.

Lorenzo Pellegrini (8 goals, 3 assists) has been the star of the show, while Tammy Abraham (4 goals, 2 assists) has played an eye-catching supporting role.

Milan, on the other hand, have yet to taste defeat in Serie A this season – notching nine wins and one draw in the process.

They have netted a whopping 23 goals so far (2.3 goals per game) and have only conceded nine at the other end of the pitch.

Despite their impressive domestic form, Milan have lost all three of their Champions League matches this term.

That said, they head into Sunday’s clash having won each of their previous six Serie A games, so they won’t be too concerned about their European exploits.

Head-to-head: Milan are currently enjoying a three-game unbeaten streak against Roma, securing two wins and a draw in that time.

In fact, Milan have lost only one of their previous seven meetings with Roma in all competitions – picking up four victories along the way.

Team news: Roma will be without injured duo Leonardo Spinazzola (achilles) and Chris Smalling (hamstring) this weekend.

Milan, meanwhile, have an extensive injury list that contains Mike Maignan, Alessandro Florenzi, Ante Rebic, Brahim Diaz and others.

Although Roma have made a decent start to life under Jose Mourinho, Milan have yet to taste defeat in Serie A this season.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Milan will claim all three points on Sunday. The game is also likely to produce over 2.5 goals.
