Leicester City welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to the King Power Stadium on Wednesday for one of five all-Premier League clashes in the Carabao Cup round of 16.

The Foxes find themselves ninth in the Premier League table with 14 points to their name – one point behind fifth-place Brighton.

Leicester head into Wednesday’s clash on a three-game winning streak, having beaten Manchester United, Spartak Moscow and Brentford.

Brendan Rodgers’ men have lost just one of their previous seven matches in all competitions, picking up four wins and two draws along the way.

Impressively, the Foxes have scored at least two goals in six of their last seven outings, too – underlining their attacking strength.

Jamie Vardy (7 goals) has been the star of the show, of course, with Patson Daka (5), Youri Tielemans (3) and Kelechi Iheanacho (3) playing supporting roles.

At the other end of the pitch, however, Leicester have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their past six encounters across all competitions.

On the flip side, Brighton head into Wednesday’s clash on the back of a 4-1 home defeat to Manchester City.

Despite managing ten shots – five of which were on target – the Seagulls were ultimately outclassed by the reigning Premier League champions.

Brighton have now failed to win any of their previous four games, registering three draws before losing to Man City.

In fact, their last victory came over a month ago. They beat Swansea 2-0 in the third round of the EFL Cup to book their place in the last 16.

It is also worth noting that Brighton have only managed to score one goal in their previous three outings, although they have kept two clean sheets in that time.

Head-to-head: Leicester and Brighton have faced each other 39 times over the years. The Foxes have won 18 times, while the Seagulls have picked up 14 wins (7 draws).

It is worth pointing out, however, that Brighton have won just one of their last ten meetings with Leicester in all competitions.

Team news: Leicester have several notable injury absentees at the moment, including Wesley Fofana, James Justin, Marc Albrighton and Wilfred Ndidi

Brighton will be without Steven Alzate and Danny Welbeck on Wednesday as they continue to recover from surgery.

Both Leicester and Brighton have made a promising start to the season, meaning they are likely to dish up a tense and cagey affair on Wednesday.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Brighton will edge out the Foxes by just a single goal at the King Power.
