Getafe will be hoping to move off the bottom of the La Liga table when Celta Vigo visit Estadio Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Monday night.

Getafe have failed to win any of their first nine La Liga games this season, registering two draws and seven defeats along the way.

As a result, they find themselves rock bottom of the Spanish top tier – five points behind Celta Vigo, who have seven points to thir name.

Getafe lost seven straight matches at the beginning of the season, scoring a measly two goals during that period.

They have since picked up a couple of draws. After holding Real Sociedad before the international break, Getafe claimed a goalless draw with Levante last weekend.

Not only have they scored just three goals this term, but they have also conceded 13 – giving them a dismal goal difference of –10.

Although we are only nine games into the 2021/22 La Liga season, it feels like Getafe are already involved in a relegation battle.

As for Celta Vigo, they aren’t doing much better, having won just two of their nine La Liga matches this season.

Celta picked up one point from their opening five games this season, recording one draw and four losses in the process.

They bounced back with back-to-back wins over Levante and Granada across Matchdays 6 and 7, keeping a clean sheet on both occasions.

However, Celta head into Matchday 10 on the back of two straight losses – going down to Elche and Sevilla without scoring a goal.

Funnily enough, Getafe are the only team in La Liga to have suffered more defeats than Celta Vigo this season.

Head-to-head: Celta Vigo have only managed to win one of their previous eight meetings with Getafe, recording four draws and three losses along the way.

Given that each of the last four meetings have produced under 2.5 goals, we are set for a low-scoring encounter on Monday.

Team news: Getafe currently have three players sidelined through injury – Erick Cabaco, Jakub Jankto and Vitolo.

On the flip side, Celta Vigo only have one absentee at the moment, as right winger Brais Mendez continues to recover from injury.

With Getafe languishing at the foot of La Liga, Celta are expected to come away with all three points on Monday.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Celta will net over 1.5 goals and achieve a shutout on their way to seeing off Getafe.
