Leicester and Man Utd braced for tight encounter

Manchester United will be looking to end a two-game winless stretch when they face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men find themselves fourth in the Premier League table – two points behind first-place Chelsea.

Leicester, on the other hand, have endured a testing start to the season and currently sit thirteenth – six points shy of Man Utd.

The Foxes have only managed to win two of their seven league games this term, registering two wins and three losses in the process.

They have also failed to win any of their previous four outings, losing to Manchester City and Brighton before sealing back-to-back 2-2 draws with Burnley and Crystal Palace.

Brendan Rodgers’ men have been involved in some high-scoring games of late, with each of their last three league outings producing over 2.5 goals.

Unsurprisingly, Jamie Vardy has been at the heart of the action – netting four goals across his previous three league matches.

The veteran striker has notched six goals and one assist in seven EPL appearances this term, putting him level with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah atop the Golden Boot leaderboard.

On the flip side, Man Utd made an impressive start to the season – picking up four wins and one draw from their opening five league games.

They have taken a turn for the worse of late, however, winning just one of their previous four games in all competitions.

Along with a defeat to Aston Villa and a draw with Everton in the league, the Red Devils lost to West Ham in the EFL Cup before beating Villarreal in the Champions League.

Let’s not forget that Man Utd are currently enjoying a 22-game unbeaten run away from home in the Premier League.

Although Solskjaer’s men have endured a slight downturn recently, they know what it takes to get a result on the road.

Head-to-head: Man Utd have only won one of their past four meetings with Leicester in all competitions, suffering two defeats last season.

It is also worth noting that each of the previous three encounters between the teams have produced over 2.5 goals.

Team news: Leicester currently have James Justin, Wilfred Ndidi and Wesley Fofana on the sidelines, while Jonny Evans is also a doubt.

Harry Maguire is a doubt for Man Utd, although Marcus Rashford is close to making a return from a lengthy lay-off.

Given Leicester’s indifferent start to the campaign, the hosts could struggle to deal with the visitors on Saturday.

For that reason, Forebet predicts that Man Utd will edge out Leicester on Saturday. Over 2.5 goals are expected, too.
