Another Closely-Fought Encounter Expected in the Unpredictable Segunda Division Between Zaragoza and Huesca
3690

Segunda División action takes place this weekend as Real Zaragoza welcome Huesca for an early relegation scrap as only two points separate the Spanish outfits in the second tier and a win here could seriously improve their chances of escape early on.

The hosts are currently occupying the third relegation spot in the Segunda División as they sit in 20th and on only eight points from eight games, as they have won just one, drawn five and lost the other two.

In truth, this isn’t the worst record out there, but it is a stark reminder how topsy-turvy things tend to be in the Spanish second division.

Nevertheless, the club are in a decent position to get out of the drop zone and will be able to do so with a win here and potentially move as high as 10th, should other results go their way.

On the other hand, it is going to be a tough game here for them as Zaragoza have only bagged five goals from the eight league games thus far, which is the worst in the whole of the Segunda División.

Moreover, Zaragoza have only conceded seven goals from eight games, which is up there with some of the best in the league already as only three times have let in less with six.

At the same time, this is also the same amount of goals conceded as league leader Almeria, and less than title-challenging sides like Eibar and Sporting Gijon.

As for Huesca, their season has been as topsy-turvy as it gets with only 10 points from eight games leaving them rooted in mid-table and a distance away from the promotion spots, but not too far off being in the relegation zone themselves.

On the opposite end of the action spectrum, Huesca have seen goals come in and go in as well as they sit with 11 goals scored and nine going into their own net, which makes them one of the most out-of-form teams in the division.

In fact, so far, they have won three, lost four and drawn one, which leaves them in 11th. However, a win could push them right up towards the top end of the table, but a defeat could leave them flirting with the drop zone; this is just how close the second tier is this season.

Given how matched many of the teams are in the Segunda División and the current form of these two, Forebet predicts a game of under 2.5 goals and a draw.
