Another Miserable Night Expected for Celtic as the In-Form Bayer Leverkusen Come to Town

Celtic will welcome Bayer Leverkusen to Celtic Park this Thursday evening as the German outfit look to make it two in two in the Europa League, while the Scottish giants aim to get off the mark after a thrilling game with Real Betis.

Week one in the Europa League for Group G just proved how close this group may well be, as not much really separated Betis and Celtic throughout the 90 minutes in what was a thrilling encounter.

The Hoops would lead 2-0 inside the first half after goals from Albian Ajeti and Josip Juranovic, but in dramatic fashion, Juan Miranda and Juanmi both scored not long after and made the game 2-2 in no time.

To make matters even more spectacular, it took the Spanish side just eight minutes of the first half to open up a two-goal lead and make it 4-2. Anthony Ralston would pull one back late on and ultimately prove that Celtic can still score on the big stage.

Back in Scotland, however, the woes continue for them as the club sit sixth in the SPFL after seven games, which sees new manager Ange Postecoglou witness his side lose three and win three and draw the other.

Celtic have still managed to score more goals than anyone else in the division though, and with an excellent tally of 17 goals from seven games, it’s fair to say that they can still get some goals under their belt.

On the other hand, they have let in 12 inside the Scottish top flight, which by their usual standards, is very poor.

To make matters worse for Celtic, they face off against a Leverkusen side who are in spectacular form this Bundesliga season, which was only matched with their 2-1 win over Ferencvaros as Exequiel Palacios and Florian Wirtz forced them into second in Group G.

Back in Germany, Leverkusen are second to only Bayern Munich in the top flight, which is, of course, by no means a disappointing factor.

Gerardo Seoane’s men have managed to score 16 times in just seven Bundesliga games and let in only six, leaving them with 14 points from six games.

With all this in mind, it should be a relatively easy night for the German outfit and Forebet predicts they will see another win and Celtic be compounded to more misery. Forebet predicts the game will see over 2.5 goals also.
