Napoli visit Sampdoria on Thursday as they attempt to maintain their 100% record in Serie A this season, having won each of their opening four matches.

Luciano Spallett’s side have led the way for much of the campaign so far and have set the foundations for a title-chasing season.

Sampdoria, on the other hand, have only managed to win one of their four league games this season and find themselves seven points behind Napoli as a result.

That said, Samp are unbeaten in each of their previous three Serie A outings and have also lost just one of their last seven.

Following a 1-0 loss to Milan on the opening weekend, Sampdoria secured impressive draws with Sassuolo and Inter.

Last time out, they picked up their first win of the season – seeing off Empoli 3-0 thanks to a Francesco Caputo double and a goal from Antonio Candreva.

Having only scored two goals in three games before last weekend’s win, Samp could struggle to find the back of the net against Napoli.

On the flip side, Napoli haven’t had any trouble hitting the target this term. They have scored ten goals across their four league matches, averaging 2.5 goals per game.

Better still, Spalletti’s men have conceded just two goals in that team – meaning they have the joint-best defensive record in the division.

Napoli saw off Venezia, Genoa and Juventus before drawing with Leicester City in the Europa League last week.

On Monday, they secured a massive 4-0 victory over Udinese, with Victor Osimhem netting his third goal in four appearances this season.

Thanks to a solid end to the previous campaign, Napoli are enjoying a 13-game unbeaten streak in Serie A and have only lost one of their last 20 league matches.

Head-to-head: Napoli have won each of their previous five meetings with Sampdoria, scoring 13 goals in the process (2.6 goals per game).

In fact, Samp have only managed to win one of their last 20 games against Napoli, with their most recent victory coming in 2018.

Team news: Sampdoria will be without injured duo Manolo Gabbiadini (ankle) and Ronaldo Vieira (bicep) on Thursday.

As for Napoli, they only have one injury absentee at the moment, with defensive midfielder Diego Demme sidelined with a knee problem.

Having won all four of their Serie A games this season, Napoli look set to seal a comfortable win over Samp on Thursday.

Considering Napoli have won each of their previous six away matches in Serie A, Forebet predicts that Spalletti’s side will score over 2.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to victory.
