Bologna’s Great Start to the Season Set to Pile More Misery on Hellas Verona

The in-form Bologna will welcome the struggling Hellas Verona to the Renato Dall'Ara Stadium this weekend as both sides look to kick on.

Put their marker down on what has turned out to be a very topsy-turvy Serie A season for far.

We are only two games in, of course, but within this period, we have seen giants like Juventus fail to get a win and teams like Verona struggle to get out of the misery they faced last season in Italy’s top flight. In fact, only the Milan and Rome sides have seemingly got the ball rolling thus far, alongside Napoli.

As for Bologna, they currently sit in seventh and have started with a promising draw and one win so far, as they have managed to draw with Atalanta and beat newbies Salernitana 3-2.

These results were slightly contrasting in the sense that they managed to keep out goals from the serial goalscorers Atalanta in an impressive defensive display, but also managed to concede three to a newly-promoted side.

One of Bologna's highlights over the past couple of months has been that 0-0 draw against Atalanta, as it was Atalanta’s first home game of the season and they were expected to use this as momentum to get them back towards the top end of the table.

The club, however, were defensively solid throughout, and Bologna have proved early on that they are one of the teams that could be set for a top half finish. Either way, it’s been very positive during the early stages for them and four points from two games is certainly a great start.

As for Verona, their lack of being able to progress further up the league has once again been proved with two defeats from two so far, and in reality, now in their third consecutive season in Serie A, they could be in for a long season.

Verona have managed to finish ninth and 10th in these years and ultimately, it has been a decent return. However, form has been topsy-turvy and goals have been hard to come by and they needed a confident start to this season to keep momentum strong.

Now, due to Bologna’s bright start to the campaign and the current misery of Hellas Verona in the Serie A, Forebet predicts the game will see over 2.5 goals in favour of Bologna, putting them in better contention for a top half battle.
