Atalanta continued their sensational rise in Italian football last season with yet another top four spot, but as of now, they have been dealt an early blow with one win and one draw so far, as they triumphed over Torino on the opening day before being held to a goalless draw against the impressive Bologna.
The same will apply for Atalanta this season, in the sense that their objective will be to resume their European football next campaign and put in a decent enough fight for the title.

As a result of such catastrophic form, Fiorentina would end up being involved in a relegation battle all season long and only avoid the drop by seven points, which for a club of their size, is beyond disastrous.
It hasn’t, however, been the worst start in the world for them this season, as they boast the same number of points as Atalanta ahead of this one. Fiorentina have also managed to beat Torino as they edged past the Turin outfit with goals from Nicolas Gonzalez and Dusan Vlahovic.
The form between these two sides is tough to separate right now as they both look to build on what has been an unbeaten but lacklustre start at times from them.
