Adi Hutter’s Torrid Start to Live at Gladbach Set to Continue Against Bielefeld

Borussia Mönchengladbach will welcome Arminia Bielefeld to Borussia-Park this weekend as two of the Bundesliga’s struggling sides meet in what has rapidly become a must-win game for either side.

Gladbach have had an utterly disastrous start to life post-Marco Rose, as in the Adi Hutter era, the club have failed to win any of the three games in the league so far, with their only point on the board coming on the opening day against Bayern Munich.

In this draw, Gladbach were unlucky not to leave the champions’ ground with all three points as they initially led the game and were only undone by a Robert Lewandowski goal.

This fixture, ironically, remains the only time Hutter’s men have looked decent enough to get some points on the board.

Elsewhere, Gladbach have managed to lose to Union Berlin 2-1 and also, they were demolished by Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 just before this, which has sparked serious concerns at the club as they finished eighth last season.

This does mean that Hutter and co. have let in an almighty seven goals already and scored just the two. Now, a defeat for Gladbach could cause further problems before the winter break, with their hopes of a top four spot gradually slipping away already.

As for Bielefeld, they are enjoying a topsy-turvy start to this Bundesliga campaign, which comes off the back of them narrowly avoiding the drop last season by just two points. Now, in their second consecutive Bundesliga campaign, Bielefeld have drawn all three games early on.

Last campaign, the club avoided automatic relegation by four points and the relegation playoffs by just two points on the final whistle of the last day.

In 2021/22, they are now unbeaten, of course, but this is far from something to boast about, as a defeat for them here could throw them back into the relegation zone depending on other results. Either way, it would put Gladbach ahead of them in the table for now.

Given the form of either side, it is really tough to see that many goals go in here and as a result, a game of under 2.5 goals is expected and yet another draw in the Bundesliga should come too. This will make it four draws for Bielefeld and two for Gladbach after just four games each.
