AC Milan and Lazio will put their 100% records on the line when they go head-to-head at San Siro on Sunday.

Both teams have won their opening two games of the 2021/22 Serie A season, along with Inter, Roma and Napoli.

Having netted a whopping nine goals already, Lazio find themselves at the top of the table thanks to their impressive +7 goal difference.

Milan, on the other hand, have scored five goals across their opening two matches – conceding just once in the process.

Stefano Piolo’s side beat Sampdoria 1-0 on the opening weekend before thrashing Cagliari 4-1 last time out.

Former Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud netted a first-half brace against Cagliari, with Sandro Tonali and Rafael Leao completing the scoring for the Rossoneri.

Milan head into Sunday’s clash on a seven-match unbeaten streak in Serie A, following on from a strong end to the previous campaign.

Pioli’s men have also lost just one of their previous six league games on home soil, so they will be confident extending their 100% record this weekend.

Lazio, meanwhile, kicked off their campaign with an easy 3-1 victory over Empoli, despite going behind inside four minutes.

The capital club then thrashed Spezia 6-1 at Stadio Olimpico last time out, reacking up 18 shots while enjoying 64% possession.

You probably won’t be surprised to learn that Ciro Immobile took full advantage of Spezia’s leaky backline.

The Italy striker netted a first-half hat-trick last time out, meaning he has bagged four goals in his first two appearances this season.

Let’s not forget that Luis Alberto (1 goal, 3 assists) and Felipe Anderson (1 goal, 1 assist) have also impressed during the early stages of the season.

Head-to-head: Across the past six meetings between Milan and Lazio, both teams have registered three wins.

Given that the previous four meetings have dished up a combined total of 14 goals (3.5 goals per game), a high-scoring encounter is on the cards this weekend.

Team news: Milan duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Franck Kessie are currently out injured, while Olivier Giroud is a coronavirus doubt.

As for Lazio, they will be without right winger Bobby Adekanya and right-back Manuel Lazzarri through injury.

Although both teams will be eager to maintain their 100% records, Milan’s home advantage could prove to be the difference between the teams on Sunday.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Milan will net over 2.5 goals on their way to beating Lazio.
