Real Madrid will be hoping to maintain their lead at the La Liga summit when they welcome winless Celta Vigo to the Bernabeu on Sunday night.

Celta Vigo have failed to win any of their opening three games this season, registering one draw and two losses. As a result, they sit eighteenth in the table.

At the other end of the standings, Real Madrid find themselves at the top of the pile, having sealed two wins and one draw.

Although Los Blancos are one of six teams on seven points, they sit atop the table thanks to their superior goalscoring record.

Real Madrid kicked off their campaign with 4-1 victory over Alaves before registering a thrilling 3-3 draw with Levante.

Last time out, they picked up a hard-fought 1-0 win at Real Betis, with Dani Carvajal netting the only goal of the game.

Los Blancos head into Sunday’s clash on a 21-match unbeaten streak in La Liga, underlining their strength.

In fact, they have only lost one of their previous 31 league games – and Celta Vigo aren’t expected to end that run this weekend.

Having said that, Celta Vigo have only lost one of their previous seven away games in the Spanish top-flight.

Celta pushed defending champions Atletico Marid all the way on the opening weekend, although they eventually lost 2-1.

Following a goalless draw with Osasuna on Matchday 2, Celta were beaten 1-0 by Athletic Club last time out.

With just one point and one goal to their name his season, Celta Vigo aren’t likely to cause Real Madrid too many problems on Sunday.

Head-to-head: Celta Vigo’s last victory over Real Madrid came back in 2017. Since then, Los Blancos have claimed seven wins and three draws in this fixture.

It is also worth pointing out that 14 of the last 16 matches between Real Madrid and Celta have produced over 2.5 goals.

Team news: Real Madrid have a number of injuries at the moment, including Toni Kroos, Ferland Mendy, Dani Ceballos, Luka Modric and Nacho.

Celta, on the other hand, only have one injury concern right now, with centre-back Jose Fontan expected to miss Sunday’s clash.

Not only have Real Madrid dominated Celta in recent years, but Los Blancos have also enjoyed a far better start to the season than Celta.

When you couple those two factors together, all the signs point towards a comfortable home win on Sunday.

Forebet predicts that Real Madrid will keep a clean sheet on their way to beating Celta with ease.
