Two teams who have had poor seasons in the Irish Premier Division, Waterford United and Dundalk meet on Friday night, as both try to move up the standings.
Waterford are eighth-place in the table, a point clear of the visitors who occupy ninth and the relegation play-off spot. However, the home team has played two more games than the visitors in the Irish top-flight.
Despite their lowly position in the table, United heads into this encounter in good form. In fact, they have won five of their last six matches in the Irish Premier Division.
The win was much needed for Waterford to get out of trouble after a poor start to the Irish Premier Division campaign. United still have the second-worst defensive record in the league after bottom of the table Longford Town.

While Waterford will feel they are having a disappointing season, Dundalk are enduring an even worse campaign. The visitors recent form has rather summed up their campaign so far in the Irish Premier Division, as they have lost four of their last five league outings.
A lack of goals has been a problem for Dundalk, as they have scored just 27 goals in their 23 league matches.
The visitors have a mixed recent record on their travels in the Irish Premier Division, but they have won just two of their previous seven league games on their travels.
They have also suffered back-to-back away defeats against Shamrock Rovers and Derry City. Their recent away matches have been relatively low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in three of their last four games.
