SD Huesca set to march up Segunda Division with win over Real Oviedo

Real Oviedo will go in search of their first win of the season when they visit Estadio El Alcoraz to face SD Huesca on Monday night.

Oviedo find themselves seventeenth in the Segunda Division table, having taken just two points from their opening three games.

Meanwhile, Huesca currently sit fourth – four points ahead of Oviedo – after picking up two wins from their first three matches.

Huesca kicked off their campaign with a 2-0 victory over recently-relegated Eibar before beating FC Cartagena by the same scoreline.

Their winning start to the season was ended last weekend, though, as they were beaten 2-1 by Las Palmas.

Despite seeing 65% of the ball and registering 15 shots, Huesca failed to come away from Gran Canaria with anything to show for their efforts.

Only one team – Almeria – has scored more Segunda Division goals than Huesca this season, while just one side – Valladolid – has a better goal difference.

If they continue to find the back of the net and prevent goals at the other end of the pitch, Huesca will put themselves in the mix promotion.

On the flip side, Oviedo have recorded two draws and one loss so far this term – meaning only five teams sit below them in the table.

Following a 2-2 draw with Lugo on the opening day, Oviedo lost 2-1 to Almeria before registering a goalless draw with Tenerife last time out.

It is also worth pointing out that Oviedo have struggled on the road in recent times, winning just one of their previous 14 away games in the league.

Needless to say, they will need to improve on that record if they want to steer clear of relegation this season.

Head-to-head: Real Oviedo have only managed to win one of their past seven meetings with Huesca, recording four draws and two losses in that time.

Let’s not forget that only three of the previous eight meetings between Huesca and Oviedo have produced over 2.5 goals, too.

Team news: Neither side has any injury concerns at the moment, meaning both managers are expected to field a full-strength staring XI on Monday.

When you couple Huesca’s strong start to the season with their recent record against Oviedo, all signs point towards an easy home win.

Forebet predicts that Huesca will score over 1.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to seeing off Oviedo.
