The final game to be played in the second round of fixtures of the 2021/22 Spanish La Liga season is between Osasuna and Celta Vigo at the Estadio El Sadar on Monday night.

The hosts begin the weekend in 13th place with one point to their name while the visitors are down in 16th place and yet to get off the mark this season.

Osasuna started their 2021/22 campaign with a home fixture against Espanyol and were held to a 0-0 draw. Despite having a total of 14 shots during the game, Osasuna could not make the breakthrough and will be hoping they can convert some of their chances in this fixture.

Including matches from the end of last season, Osasuna have been struggling to win games and they have achieved just 1 win in their last 7 La Liga fixtures.

That came at home against Cadiz but since then there have been defeats at Atletico Madrid and at home against Real Sociedad.

However, trends show Osasuna are unbeaten in 6 of their last 7 home matches in La Liga. In addition to the victory over Cadiz, there have been wins against Elche and Valencia.

Osasuna have kept just one clean sheet in their last7 matches and that came in the home match against Espanyol last weekend.

Osasuna have failed to score a goal in each of their last 2 La Liga matches.

Celta Vigo started their 2021/22 La Liga season with a 2-1 loss at home against defending champions Atletico Madrid.

Celta Vigo fell behind in the 23rd minute but came back well in the second half, scoring the equalising goal from the penalty spot just before the hour.

However, it took only 5 minutes for Atletico Madrid to restore their advantage and there were two red cards at the end of the game, including one for Celta Vigo.

That result means Celta Vigo have lost their last 2 La Liga fixtures having suffered a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Real Betis at the end of last season.

However, trends show Celta Vigo are unbeaten in 5 of their 6 most recent away league matches, including wins over Huesca, Alaves, Villarreal, and Barcelona.

Celta Vigo have scored 2 or more goals in 4 of their last 6 away league games, including 2 goals at Barcelona and 4 at Valencia.

Looking ahead to the team news and Osasuna will be without Robert Ibanez who is injured. However, Adriane Hernandez, Lucas Torro and Jose Angel should all be available following injury problems of their own.

Celta Vigo travel without the suspended Hugo Mallo but every other player should be fit and available. Jose Manuel Fontán is expected to partner Nestor Araujo in central defence.

Celta Vigo will feel confident of putting the defeat of last weekend behind and taking maximum points in this game.

They could easily have taken something from the match against Atletico Madrid and could come away with 3 points, scoring at least 2 goals in the process.
