We have two La Liga games to get out teeth into on Monday night, the first which sees Getafe welcome Sevilla to Estadio Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Sevilla got off to the best possible start last weekend, crushing Rayo Vallecano 3-0 in their opening match of the new campaign.

Getafe, on the other hand, suffered a 1-0 loss to Valencia in their first La Liga outing of the 2021/22 season.

Valencia were reduced to ten men inside three minutes last weekend, giving Getafe an excellent chance to claim all three points.

Yet, despite seeing 74% possession and chalking up a mammoth 22 shots, Getafe conceded after 11 minutes and failed to find a reply.

When you look at the bigger picture, Getafe have only managed to win three of their previous 21 La Liga games.

Having finished the previous campaign in fifteenth place – four points clear of the relegation zone – Getafe can’t afford to start the new season in a similar fashion.

On the flip side, Sevilla finished fourth last term – 15 points ahead of fifth-place Real Sociedad and just two points behind third-place Barcelona.

It’s safe to say that Julen Lopetegui’s men picked up where they left off last season, hammering Rayo Vallecano 3-0 in their opening match last weekend.

Sevilla completely dominated Rayo Vallecano, racking up 21 shots while enjoying 76% possession on home soil.

Youssef En-Nesyri opened the scoring inside 19 minutes before new signing Erik Lamela bagged a second-half brace.

It is worth noting that Sevilla have only lost two of their previous 14 La Liga games, following on from a stellar 2020/21 campaign.

Head-to-head: Sevilla have won each of their last four La Liga meetings with Getafe, losing just two of their previous ten.

Sevilla have also kept four straight clean sheets against Getafe, scoring a combined total of nine goals along the way.

Team news: Getafe have no fresh injury worries but will be without the suspended Erick Cabaco on Monday following his red card last weekend.

With Oliver Torres Sevilla’s only injury doubt, new signing Erik Lamela looks set to keep his place in the team after scoring twice on his debut for the club.

When you consider Sevilla’s dominant record against Getafe in recent times, all the signs point towards a comfortable away win on Monday.

Forebet predicts that Sevilla will keep a fifth straight clean sheet against Getafe, registering a low-scoring victory in the process.
