Fresh from sealing an easy 3-0 win over Norwich City on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season, Liverpool welcome Burnley to Anfield on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s men cruised to victory over the newly-promoted side, with Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah getting on the scoresheet.

Although Norwich edged the possession statistics, the Reds racked up 19 shots – eight of which were on target.

All in all, it was dominant display for Liverpool, who will now be confident of kicking off the campaign with back-to-back wins.

Following a strong end to last term, Klopp’s side have won each of their previous six Premier League matches.

On top of that, the Reds head into Saturday’s clash on an eleven-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League.

It is also worth noting that Liverpool have won each of their last three league games by two or more goals, so you can’t help but fear the worst Burnley on Saturday.

As for Burnley, they were beaten 2-1 by Brighton on the opening weekend – despite taking the lead inside two minutes.

Centre-back James Tarkowski put his side ahead early on at Turf Moor, but goals from Neal Maupay and Alexis Mac Allister saw the Seagulls turn things around late on.

Sean Dyche’s men only saw 35% possession against Brighton, while the visitors completed almost twice as many passes as the hosts.

Following on from the previous campaign, Burnley have now lost each of their last four Premier League matches.

In fact, the Clarets lost seven of their final nine league games last term – meaning they have now lost eight of their previous ten.

Head-to-head: There was a win apiece for these two sides last season, with Burnley winning 1-0 at Anfield and Liverpool winning 3-0 at Turf Moor.

However, Burnley have only managed to pick up one victory in their last nine league meetings with Liverpool – suffering six defeats in that time.

Team news: Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson is set for an extended period on the sidelines, while midfield trio Curtis Jones, Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara are also injury doubts.

Burnley currently have two players on the treatment tables, with Dale Stephens and Kevin Long unavailable for Saturday’s clash.

When you couple Liverpool’s recent record against Burnley with their dominant display against Norwich last weekend, all the signs point towards a comfortable home win on Saturday.

Forebet predicts that Liverpool will keep a clean sheet on their way to sealing a high-scoring victory over Burnley.
