Swansea to pick up first league win of the season
Swansea City vs Sheffield United - 14/08/2021

The English Championship kicked off last weekend. Two teams who enter this weekend’s round of fixtures pointless are Swansea City and Sheffield United who meet at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday night.
Swansea of course suffered defeat in last season’s play-off final, going down 2-0 to Brentford. The Swans lost head coach Steve Cooper in the summer. The Welshman’s replacement is former MK Dons boss Russell Martin.
The new Swans boss kicked his tenure off in South Wales with a 2-1 defeat at Blackburn. However, since the loss, they have recorded a 3-0 win over Reading in the first round of the League Cup.
The opening weekend defeat continued a poor run of form for the Swans from last season, as City have now won just two of their last nine matches in the second tier of the English game.
Their most recent form at the Liberty Stadium has also been unconvincing, as they have won just once in their last six league games on home soil.
Sheffield United’s return to the Championship went badly, as the Blades went down 1-0 at home to Birmingham on the opening weekend.
Like the home side, the team from Yorkshire followed the defeat up with a League Cup win, as they defeated Carlisle 1-0.
The Blades have maintained much of their squad from last season and the appointment of the highly-rated Slavisa Jokanovic looks like a shrewd one. However, they need to get points on the board early doors to avoid an underwhelming campaign.
The Yorkshire outfit could lose their first-choice goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, as Arsenal are reportedly currently negotiating a fee for the 23-year-old. Whether the youngster is in the Blades squad for this clash remains to be seen.
Forebet predicts that Swansea will pick up their league win of the season in a tight, low-scoring encounter.
