SonderjyskE to kick off Danish Superliga with a win over Silkeborg
Silkeborg IF vs SonderjyskE - 19/07/2021

The Danish Superliga kicks off this weekend with three days of great football from Denmark. On Monday night, Silkeborg and SønderjyskE will meet at the JYSK Park.
Silkeborg were promoted from the Danish First Division at the end of last season after finishing second in the league.
SønderjyskE, on the other hand, were lower mid-table in the Superliga last term, ending the campaign in eighth place.
These teams have met during the offseason in a preseason friendly. SønderjyskE won away from home claiming a 5-3 victory.
Being that the game was a preseason friendly, it may not have much of an impact on the result of Monday night’s fixture.
Silkeborg manager Kent Nielsen has two players on the injury list going into the match. Gustav Dahl is likely to miss the game due to an ankle injury.
Reports indicate Dahl won’t be available until August. Fellow defender Milan Massop is ruled out until September due to an unspecified issue.
SønderjyskE manager Michael Boris has no new injury issues going into the first match of the campaign. American forward Haji Wright led SønderjyskE in goals last season with 11 goals, all from open play.
Despite being one of the top Americans playing in Europe, Wright remains under the radar of clubs in North America and the United States national team. Wright may not start in attack for Boris, however.
According to reports on Friday, Turkey’s Antalyaspor have agreed the transfer of Wright from SønderjyskE.
Anders Jacobsen was second in goals for SønderjyskE with 10. He and Wright scored 21 times, which accounted for 70% of SønderjyskE’s scoring in the SuperLiga.
SønderjyskE have won three of the last four matches in all competitions versus Silkeborg. The established Danish Superliga team are likely to claim a victory once more this weekend versus the newly-promoted side.
SønderjyskE were not a strong away team in 2020 and lost four straight games to finish out the campaign. However, SønderjyskE should be much better on the road this term, especially by starting out the season away to the newly-promoted Silkeborg.
Silkeborg have a difficult start to the season. Following their match against SønderjyskE, Silkeborg will face off with FC Copenhagen. FC Copenhagen are searching for their first title win in three years.
SønderjyskE should kick off the Danish Superliga season with a victory. Silkeborg, back in the Superliga, should find life difficult on their return.
SønderjyskE should win with over 2.5 goals and both sides finding the back of the net.
