It’s the final that everyone wanted, right? In the early hours of Sunday morning, Argentina and Brazil go head-to-head in the 2021 Copa America final at the famous Maracana.

Brazil booked their spot in the showpiece with a narrow victory over Peru, with Lucas Paqueta netting the only goal of the game.

Meanwhile, Argentina required penalties to overcome Colombia in the semi-finals, as Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez starred.

Martinez saved three spot-kicks to hand Argentina victory over Colombia, following a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes of action.

As a result, Argentina remain unbeaten at Copa America 2021. After picking up three wins and one draw in the group stage, Lionel Scaloni’s men crushed Ecuador 3-0 in the quarter-finals.

In fact, Argentina haven’t lost any of their previous 13 matches in competitive competitions, meaning they will be confident of downing the Brazilians this weekend.

Scaloni’s side have scored 11 goals across their six Copa America games. But perhaps more importantly, they have only conceded three goals.

Just like Argentina, Brazil also secured three wins and one draw during the group stage, beating Venezuela, Peru and Colombia, before being held by Ecuador.

Since then, they host nation have claimed 1-0 wins over both Chile and Peru in the knockouts, with Paqueta scoring on both occasions.

Looking at the bigger picture, Brazil haven’t lost any of their previous 18 encounters in competitive tournaments.

They have also suffered just one defeat in their last 35 outings, giving them a huge incentive to extend that record in Sunday’s final.

Given that Brazil have kept eight clean sheets in their previous ten matches, they will fancy their chances of preventing Argentina from scoring.

Head-to-head: The overall record between these two rivals stands at 46 wins for Brazil, 40 wins for Argentina and 25 draws.

Back to the present day, both sides have won two of the previous four meetings, with each game producing under 2.5 goals.

Team news: Argentina have no injury worries ahead of the final, so Scaloni could stick with the same starting XI that got the job done in the semi-finals.

Tite could restore Gabriel Jesus back to Brazil’s line-up after the Manchester City forward missed the previous game through suspension.

Although Argentina have performed well this summer, there is no denying that Brazil have been the best team at the 2021 Copa America.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Brazil will secure a high-scoring victory over Argentina while also keeping a clean sheet in the process.
