Kalmar have started the 2021 Allsvenskan season well posting a record of 3W-5D-1L after nine games. On Monday night, they will put their strong start on the line against BK Hacken, the Allsvenskan’s 13th-place team.

Hacken go into the game with nine points from 27 on offer this term. After a slow start in which the team went winless in their opening seven matches, Hacken have won back-to-back games.

Hacken are currently just one point outside of the relegation playoff place.

Monday night’s match at the Guldfageln Arena is the first of the campaign between the two clubs. Last season, Kalmar FF and Hacken played twice with the former going unbeaten. Kalmar won away at Hacken 2-0 before sealing a nil-nil home draw in the reverse fixture.

The last two matches played between the clubs at Kalmar’s Guldfageln Arena ended in draws. The sides could once again see out a stalemate with goals being short in supply.

Kalmar are unbeaten at the Guldfageln Arena this season with eight points from 12 possible. They have only scored three goals in four home matches while allowing one to opponents.

BK Hacken have drawn three consecutive away matches. In four road games in 2021, Hacken have failed to win a match.

They will go for a first away victory on Monday night, but will find it difficult to claim. The Wasps are –1 in goal difference this season away from home with three goals scored and four allowed.

Hacken manager Per-Mathias Hogmo has three players on the injury list, but the trio is in line to return for the game. Defender Rasmus Lindgren has a leg injury and could make a return.

Midfielder Daleho Irandust has a groin strain that is nearly healed. He could play as could forward Jesse Tuominen, who is recovering from an ACL injury. Tuominen may need a little more time to recover. Forward Leo Bengtsson is suspended for the match.

Kalmar coach Henrik Rydstroem has no new injury problems. Norwegian Oliver Berg leads Kalmar in goals with three in nine appearances. The forward will be Kalmar’s dangerman.

Hacken are led in goals by forward Alexander Jeremejeff. He has tallied five of the team’s goals in eight appearances.

So, which side will take the spoils on Monday at the Guldfageln Arena? Like the last two matches at the venue, expect a stalemate between Kalmar and Hacken. The game should finish with under 2.5 goals scored.
