Baku’s Olympic Stadium is the venue for the Czech Republic’s Euro 2020 quarter-final clash with Denmark on Saturday.
It seems crazy to think that either the Czech Republic or Denmark will be in the last four, but they both deserve to still be in the competition.
Denmark qualified for the knockouts after finishing third in Group B before thrashing Wales 4-0 in the previous round.
Meanwhile, the Czechs scraped through as one of the best third-place sides before overcoming the Netherlands in the last 16.
The Czech Republic beat Scotland 2-0 in their opening game, with a 1-1 draw against Croatia coming on Matchday 2.
However, they suffered their first loss of the European Championship on Matchday 3 – losing 1-0 to England.
But the Czechs recovered to dispatch the Dutch 2-0 last time out, with Patrik Schick netting his fourth goal of the tournament.
It is worth noting that each of the Czech Republic’s previous six games have produced under 2.5 goals. With that in mind, Saturday’s showdown is likely to be a low-scoring affair.
That said, we should remember that Denmark have won all of their last four games away from home by two or more goals.
On top of that, the Danes have only lost four of their previous 38 competitive matches, meaning they will be confident of reaching the semis.
Denmark actually lost their opening two games of Euro 2020, going down to Finland (1-0) and Belgium (2-1).
Still, they crushed Russia 4-1 on Matchday 3 to advance to the knockouts before putting four past the Welsh in the previous round.
Having netted four goals in each of their last two games, it feels like Demark are riding a wave at the moment.

However, the Danes have only beaten the Czech Republic twice in 11 meetings over the years, while the Czechs have picked up three wins in that time.

The Czechs will no doubt give a good account of themselves on Saturday, but free-scoring Denmark are likely to be too strong.
