Following a thrilling group stage, the Euro 2020 knockout phase kicks off this weekend, with Italy and Austria going head-to-head at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Austria took six points from a possible nine in Group C and qualified for the last 16 after finishing three points behind the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, Italy secured three straight wins in Group A – finishing five points clear of second-place Wales.

After seeing off Turkey 3-0 on the opening night, Italy beat Switzerland by the same scoreline before seeing off Wales 1-0.

Not only have Roberto Mancini’s men scored seven times at Euro 2020, but they have also yet to concede a single goal.

In fact, the Italians have won each of their previous ten matches in all competitions while keeping ten clean sheets along the way.

Looking at the bigger picture, Italy are unbeaten in each of their last 24 games in all competitions – making them one of the tournament favorites.

Manuel Locatelli and Lorenzo Insigne have both netted two goals at Euro 2020, with the latter also contributing an assist.

As for Austria, they will be hoping to build on a couple of impressive displays in the group stage when they take to the field on Saturday.

The Austrians kicked off their Euro 2020 campaign with a 3-1 victory over North Macedonia but were beaten 2-0 by the Dutch on Matchday 2.

However, Austria returned to winning ways last time out. They racked up a whopping 18 shots against Ukraine, claiming a 1-0 win to boot.

The Austrians have only lost three of their previous 14 matches in all competitions, picking up eight wins and three draws in the process.

But regardless of their solid run, they are likely to find life difficult against Mancini’s free-flowing Italy outfit.

Head-to-head: Remarkably, Italy are unbeaten in each of their last 13 meetings with Austria (ten wins, three draws).

Still, it is worth pointing out that Italy and Austria haven’t faced each other since competing in a friendly back in 2008.

Team news: Defensive pair Giorgio Chiellini and Alessandro Florenzi are both injury doubts for the Italians.

Austria could be without key players Konrad Laimer (RB Leipzig) and Christoph Baumgartner (Hoffenheim) through injury.

The Austrians are well organised, so they are likely to put up a decent fight. However, Italy should be far too strong to cope with.

Forebet predicts that Italy will keep yet another clean sheet on their way to beating Austria and qualifying for the quarter-finals.
