French international striker Alexandre Lacazette has recently revealed that he wishes to leave Lyon for a new challenge. The 26-year-old has been consistently prolific in Ligue One with OL and scored 37 goals last season as they finished in the French top-flight.

Lacazette has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal repeated linked with moves for the prolific French international star. However, the forward is believed to be looking for a club that can give him Champions League football next season.

That means that the Gunners are unlikely to nab his signature this summer. However, according to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United are set to launch a bid of around £50million for Lacazette.

The Red Devils are looking to sign a striker, with Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann the priority signing this summer. However, Atletico’s transfer ban and a change of heart from the player are likely to see the French international stay in the Spanish capital this summer.

United boss Jose Mourinho has now reportedly turned his attention to Lacazette, as well as Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata. Liverpool have also been mooted as a possible destination for Lacazette this summer, although United remain favourites to sign the French striker.

Lacazette is more than ready to step up to the Premier League. There is little doubt that the French striker would score goals in the English top-flight. He seems the right age to prove himself in a league of superior quality.

The French striker has consistently found the net in the French top-flight. He has little to prove in his homeland and deserves the chance to impress in the Champions League next season. The striker would be a big loss to OL, but maybe he has now outgrown the club and needs to be scoring goals on a bigger stage next season.
