Liverpool boss Klopp may rotate his team in Europa League
Liverpool have a big few days coming up with a Europa League tie against Augsburg on Thursday night at Anfield and then the Capital One Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
With that Capital One Cup game in mind Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp may just chose to field a slightly weaker team in the game against Augsburg on Thursday night. The German took a gamble in the FA Cup by fielding a team of relative youngsters and fringe players.
The gamble backfired as the Reds exited in a fourth round replay at West Ham. However, Klopp has not got more options available to him after a number of his squad returned to fitness following injury.
There is one major factor to consider in the fact that West Ham were a team in decent form, whereas Augsburg are on an inconsistent run of form of late, so it may well be a good game for Klopp to rest some of his key assets.
A number of the Reds youngsters have impressed in those cameo appearances in both the FA Cup and earlier rounds of the Capital One Cup and Klopp may give them their chance once again in Europe.
Liverpool have endured a frustratingly inconsistent campaign so far, but the Reds are still in contention to win both the Capital One Cup and also the Europa League. Any rotation of their team may just unsettle the balance and another Jurgen Klopp gamble may just backfire on the German.
