Mitrovic, Mooy, Sessegnon and Etheridge were stand out performers in disappointing seasons for their clubs.

Aleksandar Mitrovic (Fulham)

The 24-year-old Serbian terrorized defenses last season with his trademark bullish style of play. 11 goals and 3 assists is an admirable return for a striker of a relegated side and Mitrovic will not doubt be hoping he is given the opportunity to better those stats next season.

The former Newcastle United forward seems to have matured since we last saw him feature in the Premier League. It seems as though he has managed to channel his aggression and is now able to use it to his advantage.

West Ham United and Crystal Palace are just two of the clubs believed to be interested in acquiring Mitrovic’s services for the next campaign.

He will most likely be disappointed that his team mates couldn’t match his drive and determination last year but with the right players around him he has the potential to become a 20+ goals- a-season striker.

Aaron Mooy (Huddersfield Town)

Aaron Mooy was the standout performer in a very bleak campaign for Huddersfield which saw The Terriers finish bottom of the league with just 16 points.

The dogged 28-year-old gave his all in every match; breaking up opposition attacks and never shying away from a challenge. The Australian midfielder oozes confidence on the ball and is also capable of unlocking teams with defense splitting passes from deep.

With Watford, Southampton, West Ham and Newcastle all keen on signing Mooy, we will surely be seeing him playing in England’s top flight next season.

Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham)

At just 18 years old, Sessegnon is one of the country’s brightest young talents. He is a versatile player; comfortable playing as a left-back or a left-winger and his pace and trickery caused opposing sides serious problems last season.

The England under-21 international didn’t always feature in Fulham’s starting line-up due to his inexperience. However, when called upon, Sessegnon showed glimpses of high quality attacking and defensive play and is gradually maturing into a special talent.

Many believe Sessegnon is destined for the very top and it’s no surprise that the highly rated teenager has been heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur.

Niel Etheridge (Cardiff City)

It was a disappointing year for Cardiff as they were relegated from the top flight, finishing just 2 points behind Brighton and battling all the way to the end of the season.

If it wasn’t for the heroics of goalkeeper Etheridge, they may have been condemned to the Championship much sooner. The shot-stopper made some remarkable saves throughout the campaign and will no doubt be devastated that his efforts weren’t enough to keep Cardiff up.

Etheridge made history last season, becoming the first ever player from the Philippines to play in the Premier League. He proved last term that he certainly has what it takes to play at the top level again next season and perhaps one of the newly promoted sides this year would be wise to make a move for him.
