Chelsea’s attacking duo the key to the Blues title challenge

In season 2014/15 Chelsea won the Premier League title under Jose Mourinho and two players were the key to that title triumph for the Blues. Those two players were Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard and Spanish striker Diego Costa.

Hazard won Player of the Year, while Costa continued his prolific goal scoring from the previous campaign at Spanish club Atletico Madrid.

The pair’s form fell off the end of a cliff last season. Hazard look like a shadow of his former self and Costa, although hitting form late in the season, struggled to find the net in the first half of the campaign.

This season though it seems like new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is once again getting the best out of the highly-rated pair. Hazard has already scored twice this season and is starting to look like the player that took the English top-flight by storm in the title winning campaign.

Meanwhile, teammate Costa has scored twice and also produced an assist, as the Blues have maintained a hundred per cent start to their Premier League campaign. The fiery striker looked to have no future with the Blues towards the end of last season and there was speculation that the Spanish international wished to return to Atletico.

Chelsea will look to continue their perfect start to the campaign as they make the trip to Wales to face Swansea on Sunday afternoon. The Blues have a good record against the Welsh side having lost just once ten encounters in the Premier League against the Swans.

The Blues star pair were always going to be the key to Chelsea challenging for the Premier League title, as Conte is a boss that always produces well-organised teams, so the defence was always going to be well organised,

However, the rediscovery of form by the highly-rate forward pair could be the key to victory on Sunday and also the Blues title challenge this season.
