European Football is Back With a Stunning Week of Fixtures After the International Break

With the final international break of the 2021/22 season over, we take a look at the must-watch fixtures around Europe this weekend with club football returning for its final few games of the domestic season with so many things still up for grabs.

Borussia Dortmund vs RB Leipzig

Although the Bundesliga is easily the least competitive at the top this season across Europe’s top five leagues because of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are still making the battle for a top three spot interesting.

Now, a win here for RB Leipzig and they are right back into the fight as this will cut the gap from Dortmund to nine points. It could also see them move into third if Bayer Leverkusen fail to beat Hertha Berlin.

Manchester United vs Leicester City

Manchester United’s every move has been watched more than ever this season as they truly have been the most underperforming side across the top five leagues. They meet with Leicester City who themselves have massively underachieved, as Harry Maguire meets his old side.

Every game is a must-win for United now to get back into the top four, as they simply can’t fall further behind Arsenal, and things are even spicier in this one after the dramatic 4-2 win at the King Power earlier this campaign for the Foxes.

Atalanta vs Napoli

Napoli must win each game at the moment as they trail AC Milan by three points but boast a better goal difference, meaning within one gameweek, the Naples side could return to the top of the table if they win and Milan lose.

This game is equally as important for Atalanta trying to get back into the top four, as they trail Juventus by eight points with a game in hand.

Juventus vs Inter

Juventus’ stunning rise up Serie A in the past few months has forced them back into title contention in what is easily the most impressive stint of form shown across Europe in recent months, as they were as low as 10th in November.

They meet an Inter Milan side trailing their rivals Milan by six points in the defence of their title, and should Juventus win here, they would move two clear of the champions and suddenly be a serious threat to Inter’s Scudetto.

Barcelona vs Sevilla

Barcelona, like Juventus, have been on the rise in recent months with them now swapping a miserable sixth for third, and with a win over Sevilla, they will move into second with a game in hand.

Nobody is really going to catch Real Madrid at the top given their form, so this is practically a battle for second at the moment.
