Football players’ market values continue to soar, despite the effects of the pandemic. With 2021 behind us, it’s time to check out the most valuable players in 2022.

The rankings below detail the most valuable football players in 2022, based upon their current market value. It is worth noting that these values will fluctuate over the course of the year.

1. Kylian Mbappe, Paris Saint-Germain – €160 million

Kylian Mbappe is officially the most valuable football player on the planet. Boasting a market value off €160 million, the young Frenchman has the world at his feet right now.

2. Erling Haaland, Borussia Dortmund – €150 million

When you look at Erling Haaland’s scoring record, it is easy to see why he is among the most valuable players in world football. At the age of just 21, the Norwegian has netted 76 goals in 76 games for Borussia Dortmund.

3. Vinicius Junior, Real Madrid – €100 million

Vinicius Junior is currently enjoying a phenomenal breakout season. The 21-year-old Brazilian has bagged 14 goals and nine assists in 26 matches across all competitions for Real Madrid this term.

4. Mohamed Salah, Liverpool – €100 million

Widely regarded as the best forward in world football, Mohamed Salah is one of three players with a market value of €100 million. Even at 29, the Egyptian King is worth crazy money.

5. Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur – €100 million

Manchester City reportedly made multiple nine-figure bids for Harry Kane last year. The Tottenham striker was valued as high as €150 million back in 2020 but is now worth €100 million.

6. Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea – €100 million

Chelsea paid Inter Milan €115 million to acquire the services of Romelu Lukaku during the off-season. However, Belgium’s all-time leading goalscorer is currently valued at €100 million following his return to Stamford Bridge.

7. Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United – €90 million

It is no secret that Bruno Fernandes has failed to replicate last season’s heroics this term. Still, the Manchester United playmaker remains among the most valuable football players in 2022

8. Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City – €90 million

Kevin De Bruyne may turn 31 in June, but he is still one of the most valuable players on the planet. The midfielder has won three Premier League titles with Man City, bagging 73 goals and 101 assists along the way.

9. Neymar, Paris Saint-German – €90 million

Back in 2017, Neymar became the most expensive football player in history when he joined PSG from Barcelona for €222 million. Almost five years on, the Brazilian is now valued at €90 million.

10. Phil Foden, Manchester City – €85 million

If the early stages of Phil Foden’s career are anything to go by, his market value won’t stay at €85 million for very long. The English prodigy has the potential to become the most valuable player in world football.
