Mourinho already reshaping the Manchester United squad

New Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has not wasted any time in reshaping his Red Devils squad. The former-Chelsea boss only officially began his role on 1st July, but already he has been busy in the transfer market.

The Red Devils have signed defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal for a fee believed to be in the region of £30million, Swedish superstar striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free from French giants PSG and according to reports are close to the signing of Dortmund’s attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

It seems the Portuguese boss is in for a busy summer, as the Red Devils are being linked with big money moves for both Juventus’ Paul Pogba and PSG defensive midfielder Blaise Matuidi.

United only missed out on a Champions League place on goal difference last season, but are expected to challenge for the Premier League title because of Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford.

Mourinho is likely to continue strengthening his squad, as his eyes challenging for the title next season. One man who could prove to be surplus to requirements is Spanish playmaker Juan Mata, who is being heavily linked with a move to Everton.

Mourinho is not a big fan of the Spaniard and he is expected to leave the club this summer. Everton are not the only ones being linked with a move for the Spanish international though, as former-club Valencia have been mooted as a possible destination for the 28-year-old.

Mourinho is likely to continue to reshape his squad and it seems that the Red Devils team and squad could look very different to the one that Louis van Gaal struggled to help to a Champions League spot.
