Fantasy Premier League – FPL Gameweek 36 Picks

With just three Gameweeks remaining in the 2020/21 campaign, we are nearly at the end of the craziest FPL season in history.

Following a host of midweek matches, there are only eight fixtures in Gameweek 36, with four teams not playing until the following week.

Let’s start by checking out the Gameweek 36 fixtures.

• Newcastle vs. Man City

• Burnley vs. Leeds

• Southampton vs. Fulham

• Brighton vs. West Ham

• Crystal Palace vs. Aston Villa

• Tottenham vs. Wolves

• West Brom vs. Liverpool

• Everton vs. Sheff Utd

Having played three games in the space of six days, Man Utd have been given a well-earned break this weekend.

With the FA Cup final on Saturday, Chelsea and Leicester also miss out on Premier League action this weekend, along with Arsenal.

It’s a speedy turnaround this week, too, with the transfer deadline penciled in for 18:30 (BST) on Friday, May 14.

Here are the top FPL picks for Gameweek 36.

Goalkeepers

Ederson (Man City) could easily add to his impressive clean sheet tally against low-scoring Newcastle on Friday night.

Sheff Utd have only scored once in their previous five games, meaning Jordan Pickford (Everton) is in line for shutout on Sunday.

Fraser Forster (Southampton), Alisson (Liverpool) and Emi Martinez (Aston Villa) also have favorable fixtures on the horizon.

Defenders

The two Merseyside clubs both kept a clean sheet last weekend, so picking Liverpool and Everton defenders for Gameweek 36 isn’t a bad idea at all.

Stuart Dallas (Leeds) remains the highest scoring defender in the game and could pick up points at both ends of the pitch against Burnley.

Ben Godfrey (Everton) claimed 12 points in the previous round, while Gary Cahill (Crystal Palace) amassed 11.

James Tarkowski (Burnley) and Trent Alexandar-Arnold (Liverpool) are also among the league’s in-form defenders right now.

Midfielders

Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace) will be confident of adding to the 16 points he picked up in the previous round when off-form Aston Villa visit Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Kieran Westwood (Burnley) and Morgan Gibbs-White (Wolves) also scored big in Gameweek 35.

Against an unpredictable Wolves defence, Son Heung-min (Tottenham) could have a field day, as could Gareth Balle (Tottenham), who netted hat-trick against Sheff Utd a fortnight ago.

Forwards

Harry Kane (Tottenham), Patrick Bamford (Leeds) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton) are all worth considering this weekend.

Cristian Benteke (Crystal Palace) also appears to have found some form of late, bagging five goals in his last 11 appearances. He heads into Gameweek 36 having scored in back-to-back games.

Danny Ings (Southampton) and Che Adams (Southampton) both chalked up 13 points in the previous round. They could easily add to their tallies against already-relegated Fulham.
