Real Madrid and Barcelona will meet in the Supercopa de Espana Final on Sunday, January 15, as the teams play a “super” El Clasico. The archrivals will play for the first piece of silverware up for grabs to Spanish top-flight teams.

Madrid reached the final of the Supercopa de Espana with a penalty shootout win over Valencia in the semifinals. The match finished 1-1 at the end of extra time.

Barcelona also needed a penalty to reach the final. The Blaugrana ended regulation with Real Betis at 1-1 before two more goals were produced in extra time. Barcelona went on to win the penalty shootout 6-4 to punch their ticket to the final.

Real Madrid beat Barcelona 3-1 in El Clasico earlier this season at the Santiago Bernabeu. Karim Benzema scored after 12 minutes to put Madrid on the path to victory.
