Chelsea cannot be written-off in the Champions League
Reigning Premier League champions Chelsea face a tough game at big spending French giants PSG on Tuesday in the Champions League last 16 first leg.
The Blues have enjoyed a campaign to forget in the Premier League and are currently midtable in the English top-flight. However since the arrival of veteran Dutch boss Guus Hiddink the English champions form has picked-up slightly.
They are now unbeaten in 12 games in all competitions and last time out in the league recorded a 5-1 victory over hapless Newcastle. They have not experienced a complete 360 in form, as six of those unbeaten games have been drawn.
However, the win over Newcastle proves that the Blues can still produce big performances, even if the result was slightly meaningless because of their position in the table. The likes of Diego Costa and Pedro produced stellar displays against the Magpies.
There are a few negatives for the Blues though as they are missing first choice central defensive pair John Terry and Kurt Zouma for the trip to the French capital.
Chelsea have a tendency to turn the style on for the big games, no matter what their situation is in the Premier League. The Blues famously win the Champions League under Roberto Di Matteo, despite the fact they were having a poor domestic campaign by their standards.
