The Champions League starts tremendously with a great clash between Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal. Both teams know each other quite well, as for the third time in the last four editions of the Champions League, they will compete in the groups stage of the tournament. Usually, there isn`t a prominent favorite for such a game and the spectacle is guaranteed. Both teams practice really attractive football and because of matches like this, the Champions League is the most exciting football tournament at club level.
Only in one of four matches between the two teams, Borussia failed to score. This was in the last home game against Arsenal and not due to lack of attacks, but it was poor luck that prevented the Jurgen Klopp players to score. In view of the playing styles of the two teams, we can definitely expect a lot of goals now.
Borussia Dortmund did not start the season in the Bundesliga in the best way possible, losing in the first round with 0: 2. Immediately afterwards, however, Dortmund quickly proved that the loss was an isolated case and crushed their next two opponents scoring 3 goals to each. A month earlier Borussia totally outplayed their rival Bayern Munichin a match for the Germany Supercup and certainly Jurgen Klopp and his team will meet Arsenal with enviable confidence.
Arsenal, in turn, still have not revealed their full potential. Arsene Wenger signed some very classy players and now has a really impressive squad. With such a team, no doubt Wenger can attack the Champions League trophy, which still eludes him. Despite the strong team, however, Arsenal managed only one win in the Premier League so far. This victory came against Crystal Palace in the final minutes of the game from the first round of the Premier League.
Such games are always difficult to predict, but it seems likely over 2.5 goals to be scored.
