After Real Madrid`s spectacular win at the Camp Nou with 1-3, just three days later, once again we will have the opportunity to enjoy the Clasico. This time, however, the game is not of high importance as Real Madrid has no chances for the title. Furthermore the team has acknowledged the loss of the La Liga title. Moreover, on Tuesday the "White Ballet" will face Manchester United in a match of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League. Despite the impressive victory over Barcelona with 1:3, the future of Mourinho at Real is largely dependent on the team`s performance in the Champions League. It will not be a surprise if Mourinho makes some serious changes in his squad for this Clasico, in order to preserve the fitness of his main players.
Barcelona, in turn, doesn`t have a match midweek and after the heavy defeat by Real Madrid, will make all efforts to erase the recent disappointments. The losses from AC Milan and Real Madrid came rather surprisingly for Barcelona as the team was in great shape and won almost every single match. The team of Barcelona has won 16 of its last 18 matches in La Liga and scored at least two goals in 21 of its last 22 away games in the league. Real Madrid, however, are unbeaten in their last 24 home games in La Liga.
Although this meeting is not a priority for Real, we should not underestimate the team for this match. The players of the home team, no matter which will be chosen by Mourinho, will play with more confidence. For Barcelona, this El Clasico comes very soon after the defeats of AC Milan and Real Madrid. Recently, it seems as if Barcelona has no adequate solutions in matches against big teams. It is now clear that Europe`s leading teams manage to oppose quite well the "tiki-taka".
