Swansea City v Brentford - Match Preview

Swansea City slumped to a third defeat on the trot in the Championship on Saturday when they were handed a 2-1 loss away at Nottingham Forest which followed previous defeats to Norwich City and West Brom, and became their fifth loss in six matches overall in the Championship.
However, Graham Potter’s side return to the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night where they’ll entertain Brentford and the hosts have put together a useful five-match sequence without defeat which includes wins against 3rd placed Sheffield United, along with victories over relegation strugglers, Millwall and Bolton Wanderers.
Swansea City occupy 15th place in the Championship and 8 of their 13 league wins to date have been recorded at Liberty Stadium, but although Brentford occupy 13th place and are nine points adrift of the play-off pack, Swansea will fancy their chances of extending this unbeaten run on home turf.
Midfielder Roberts (4 goals) along with forwards McBurnie (16 goals) and Celina (5 goals) look the most likely to score for The Swans who will be looking to record a third consecutive home win on Tuesday night.
Brentford currently occupy a comfortable mid-table position as they sit in 13th place and still have an outside chance of claiming a top six finish, but The Bees’ success this season has been heavily dependent upon their form at Griffin Park where 11 of their 13 wins this term have been achieved.
Brentford have lost just 5 of their 19 home matches in this campaign, but their form away from home has told a very different story as the visitors have collected just 2 away wins from their 19 trips so far this season.
The Bees head into this encounter at Swansea having gone three league matches without a win as they’ve suffered back-to-back defeats to Sheffield United and West Brom, along with a point in a 0-0 draw away at Wigan Athletic.
With just 2 away wins from their last 21 matches on their travels, Brentford are not renowned for their prowess on their travels and indeed could well come a cropper in Wales on Tuesday night.
It’s true that Brentford possess serious goal threats in the shape of midfielder Canos (6 goals) along with forwards Maupay (20 goals), as well as Watkins and Benrahma (9 goals apiece), but The Bees’ defence have managed just 2 clean sheets from their 19 away matches to date.
We could see some goals here, but Swansea City should edge the points in this one.
