Leipzig to seal a crucial win in the battle for a Champions League spot

On Saturday evening, RB Leipzig host Hertha Berlin at the Red Bull Arena, as the home looks to consolidate their position in the Bundesliga top four.

RB Leipzig are currently third place in the table after an unbeaten run of eight games in the German top-flight. However, the home side have a fight on their hands to maintain a place in the Champions League spots, as they are ahead of fifth place Eintracht Frankfurt by just three points.

Last time out Ralf Rangnick’s team recorded a 1-0 win at Schalke. The victory saw Leipzig keep a third straight clean sheet in the German top-flight and also produced their fourth straight game in which under 2.5 goals were scored.

Leipzig have actually struggled for home wins of late in the Bundesliga, failing to win in their last four home matches, while drawing their last three outings at the Red Bull Arena.

Their recent league games on home soil have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in their last four home matches. The fact that the home side has scored just once in those four home games has been a big factor in the low scoring matches.

Hertha Berlin have struggled to match last season’s performances in the current campaign. The men from the German capital are currently tenth in the table and seven points adrift of the European spots.

Hertha have been inconsistent for much of the season. A recent run of just one league win from five Bundesliga outings has hampered the visitor’s chances of securing a top six finish this season.

A 3-2 home defeat against Dortmund last time out means that Hertha have now lost three of their last four league matches.

Forebet predicts that RB Leipzig will end their recent poor home form by recording a victory in a high scoring encounter.
