Sevilla and Sociedad to finish all square
2616

On Sunday evening, Sevilla host Real Sociedad at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, in what could be a vital match in the race for the European spots in La Liga.

Sevilla are currently sixth place in the table, occupying the last Europa League spot, with Real Sociedad just two points behind in ninth place.

The Andalucian’s form has slipped dramatically in the Spanish top-flight of late, as they have now won just once in their last ten league matches. Even worse is the fact that Pablo Machin’s team have now lost six of their last eight games in La Liga, including suffering a poor 2-1 defeat at bottom of the table Huesca in their last league outing.

A poor recent defensive record in La Liga has been a major factor in Sevilla’s poor run of form, as they have conceded at least twice in their last four league matches.

Despite their recent poor league form, the home side has won seven of their last ten matches at the Sanchez Pizjuan. However, Machin’s team are on a run of just one home win in four La Liga matches.

Real Sociedad have enjoyed a solid La Liga campaign so far. However, La Real’s recent league form has been inconsistent, as the visitors have won just once in four matches in the Spanish top-flight. A 2-0 home defeat against Atletico Madrid last time out in the Spanish top-flight ended an eight-game unbeaten run for Imanol Alguacil’s team.

The visitors are undefeated in four away games in La Liga, although their last three games have finished all square. Their recent away matches in the Spanish top-flight have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six away games.

Neither team has been in great form heading into this clash, so it is unsurprising that Forebet predicts that the game will end in a low scoring draw.
