There are three Premier League games to look forward to on Sunday and the action begins with Liverpool hosting Burnley.

With Manchester City having played Watford on Saturday, Liverpool will know if they can regain top spot or if they can just keep the pressure on their title rivals.  Either way, a win is vital for the Reds.  Burnley are still not safe in the bottom half of the table and anything from this game would be a big bonus.

Liverpool were held to a 0-0 draw at Everton last weekend and while on the face of it that is not a bad result, it means they have dropped to second place in the table, 1 point behind Manchester City. Liverpool created a couple of chances in the game but were nowhere near their best going forward.

The draw means Liverpool have won only one of their last three games in all competitions having also been held by Manchester United in the Premier League and Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

They have kept a clean sheet in each of their last five games in all competitions but have failed to score a goal in three of the last four.

However, trends show they are very good at home and Liverpool are undefeated in their last thirty-three home matches in all competitions.  They have won thirteen of their last fifteen home games in the Premier League and have scored 3 or more goals in six of their last seven at Anfield.

Burnley come into this game having been defeated 3-1 at home by Crystal Palace last weekend. It was a disappointing result and means they have lost each of their last two games, having tasted a 2-0 loss at Newcastle the week before.

Prior to the defeat at Newcastle, Burnley were on a run of four games unbeaten in the Premier League, with wins coming at Brighton and at home against Tottenham Hotspur.  Burnley also picked up a point at home against Southampton and in a good 2-2 draw at Manchester United.

However, trends show Burnley are poor away from home and they have won just three of their last twenty away matches in all competitions.  In twelve of their most recent away games, Burnley have lost by 2 or more goals in six of them and will need to be at their best if they are to take anything from this game.

Team news and Liverpool are still without Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren in defence but have seen Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain return to training, although he will not be considered for this game.  Every other player is fit and available.

Burnley are without the injured trio of Aaron Lennon, Jonathan Walters and Steven Defour.

Liverpool know they must win this match and if their previous home game against Watford is anything to go by, they should come out on top.  Burnley could make it difficult if they defend well but expect to see the home team come out on top by at least 2 goals.
