Having had a complete fixture list in mid-week, there is very little break for clubs in the Premier League as they begin to look forward to the weekend fixtures.

On Saturday afternoon, we have a very important fixture featuring two teams from the bottom half of the table as Brighton and Hove Albion welcome Huddersfield Town to the American Express Community Stadium.

Brighton begin this game in 16th place but have a game in hand on the teams around them. Still, they need to win this one to ease their fears of relegation.  Huddersfield sit at the bottom of the table and are desperately clinging on to life in the Premier League.

Brighton travelled to Leicester City in mid-week and suffered a 2-1 defeat.  The Foxes were buoyed but the appointment of their new manager, Brendan Rodgers and despite a goal in the second half, Brighton could not force their way back into the match.

That defeat means Brighton have won only two of their last nine games in all competitions and one of those wins came in the FA Cup after extra-time.  Trends show Premier League form is poor and Brighton have failed to win any of their last seven league games, winning only one of their last twelve, which was at home against Everton towards the end of 2018.

Home form shows Brighton have failed to win their last three in the Premier League, picking up a point against Watford but losing to Liverpool and Burnley.  However, the longer term picture shows Brighton have lost only four of their last sixteen home league games.

Huddersfield picked up a rare win in mid-week as they defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 at home thanks to a late goal. That win halts a run of five straight Premier League games with defeat and was their first win in their last sixteen matches in all competitions.

Away form is poor and Huddersfield have won just one away match this season, which came at Wolverhampton Wanderers back in November 2018.  Since then, the Terriers have lost seven and drawn one of their eight away Premier League games.

Huddersfield have failed to score a goal in each of their last five away Premier League matches and have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight on the road.

Looking ahead to the team news and Brighton have doubts over Pascal Gross, Leon Balogun and Jason Steele.

Huddersfield are without the suspended Tom Smith and injured Isaac Mbenza.  Adama Diakhaby and Daniel Williams are doubtful.

The away team will try and make things difficult for Brighton but their away form is so poor, Brighton should do enough to win the game, although it may be by a narrow margin.
